FAQ

Questions revenue and finance actually ask.

Written for the people who own occupancy, not for a brochure.

Do we have to take voucher payment instead of cash?

Only on rooms you release because they were going to be vacant. You are not replacing a cash guest. Restaurant, bar, spa, and extras stay cash. If a cash booking appears, you keep the cash booking.

Will this mess up our BAR or brand rate?

No public sell-down. IVC does not put a cheaper number on your site or on Booking.com. Members pay the published rate with vouchers they already hold. Regular guests never see an IVC discount.

What is in it for us if the room is not paid in cash?

Cash for an empty room is already zero. An IVC guest is a guest in the building who still pays cash in outlets. You already paid for staff that night.

We are full this week.

Then you release nothing this week. The arrangement is for nights that do go unsold: shoulder, midweek, last-minute cancellations. The process sits ready. It is not a quota.

How is this different from an OTA, opaque, or flash sale?

Those channels teach someone a cheaper price, even when they hide the hotel name. IVC members book your published rate. Your public number does not move.

Is the hotel selling a membership?

No. You release vacant rooms. Members already hold digital benefit vouchers from the club. You take the booking at published rate. The hotel sells nothing to guests and runs no wallet.

How will accounting treat a voucher room night?

Treat it as incremental occupancy on distressed inventory, not as a public rate change. The next conversation is 15 minutes with revenue and finance on one sample week. We do not freelance contract language on a web page.

What kind of guest arrives?

A member paying the published rate, not a distressed public tariff. They earned the vouchers. They arrive as ordinary guests. House rules are yours.
